Merry Christmas to all, and to all a long night!

We are home and somewhat settled. Thanks to everyone who shared the holiday with us. We all had some good visiting time with relatives we dont see very often, which was very nice. Asia doesnt travel away from home that well we found out. After a while she would cry and night and say "me no like michigan, we go home to delaware?" poor babe. finally we did make it home at 5 am the day after christmas. Santa visited our house while we were gone and anya was too excited to let the presents sit until later in the morning so we had to open gifts right then. asia wasnt that happy at first, but she got little einstiens pjs and was very happy. anya got a nintendo ds that the whole family loves. santa brought brain age for mike and i to play, so now we are in full competition mode.

Anyway, being on vacation was nice, but being home is soo much easier. Our doors are always open for visitors. ;o) We hope to see everyone again soon!

where, oh, where?

alright, i am the world's worst mother. i lost asia's blanket at the Arundel Mills mall in MD. by the time i had realized i lost it we were 20 miles away and i couldnt remember where in the mall i had lost it. i guess that no one feels that a gray cashmere baby blanket is important because it isnt in the lost and found at the mall. now we are on a search for a new blankey. i hope we can find a suitable replacement.

in other news, we made it to michigan after a delightful visit with the steve horenziak family and the tom horenziak family. it was nice to see the two baby boys and anya and asia liked playing with juliet alot. anyway, we have been in the car for ~15 of the past 36 hours, so i am off to bed.

too much christmas

i just noticed that all of the recent posts have been Christmas themed. so i thought that i should say something not at all related to the holidays. today that put the top coat of asphalt on our street. it was really neat to watch them do it. it only took ~3 hours and they were done. pretty cool, it almost looks like fun to do, but all of the overweight old guys, so i don't think i would fit in. i guess i need to find a different profession to pursue.

ok, i lied, i have to throw in something about presents. i ordered mike a compact fridge from sears online to be picked up at the store. and it was in stock when i ordered it and i recieved the email to go and pick it up at 5:15, but at 8:15 the fridge was gone. hmmm.... seems to me that they sold my fridge. arg. so tonight we have to go up there and buy it again so they can have one sent to the store.

Saturday we went to the tree farm to get our christmas tree. this is the third year we have come here. we got another fat one. i have to say that its a beaut! the only problem is its a bit crooked. our main concern is cookie climbing the tree since she doesnt go outside much anymore. anyway, here are the pictures from our day with the tree. enjoy!

Here is the Santa picture. i was also going to upload all of the pictures from our trip to the philly zoo the day after thanksgiving, but asia decided she doesnt need to take naps anymore. so i didnt have much time. hopefully tomorrow she is singing a different tune.

Anya had to "dress up" her turkey for school. so, we made her a dress. =)

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful thanksgiving in our new house. It consisted of:

turkey
smoked chicken (brined and smoked with hickory wood)
stuffing
corn bread stuffing
mashed potatoes
gravy
sweet potatoes
green bean casserole
corn
macaroni and cheese
rolls

and the most important part, dessert:

pumpkin pie
pumpkin pie with nuts
two crust apple pie
apple pie with walnut struesel
pecan pie

in the words of Racheal Ray it was "YUM-O"

we got our keys!!

We got the keys to our new house yesterday. the address is 6027 hazelnut dr. dover, de, 19901.

i am going to start moving carloads of stuff over every day and on sunday we are getting a uhaul to move everything thats left over. fun fun! i will post pictures soon.

tomorrow we are getting the FiOS hooked up for phone, internet and HD TV. very exciting. it is supposed to take the guy around 5 hours to get it all set up. geez. anyway.

our new move date- Nov. 16

the nice representative from pinnicale called friday afternoon and said that we could pick up our keys the following friday. i said great! then she called back 30 minutes later to tell me that we can get our keys early friday morning because we need to be out of this house the following monday. so much for a relaxed move over a 7 day period. my mom is flying out to help and i think if we load the truck sunday, i can find more people to help. i will send picture as soon as i can. later.

our musical girls

here are the girls playing the keyboard. they had trouble deciding who should press which keys. imagine that...

Also, Asia is down to wearing diaper only at bedtime and naptime. she has even resigned herself to pooping in the potty. if you ask her about it, she may even tell you about the time she pooped at the bowling alley. she was very proud.

our new dishes

we were down to only 4 dinner plates for a while and made the decision to upgrade to something we like better than plain black... after searching around for a while online unsuccessfully, we went down to the outlet mall in rehoboth beach. we finally settled on some stuff from the oneida outlet. the only downside is they are being discontinued so we cant break any of them. =) The mugs also have the floral design.

Also, while we were driving to the outlet mall we passed the most peculiar car. they had a board attached to the roof and the board was covered with.... TROLLS. how weird can you get?

Asia's new trick

Anya is very proud of her little sister. She can climb up into her bed all by herself. Don't forget to have the sound on, they are laughing like crazy.

Aren't they cute together? Asia's face looks kinda chubby from this angle.

recent happenings

well, anya has been a bit sad because all of her friends are losing teeth and she isnt. so, i tried to wiggle her two bottom front teeth last night, and success, they do move a tiny bit. she is very excited and "nervous". since i already started to pack up some of the stuffed animals and the other tooth pillow was with them, i told her i would make her a new one. this is the result.



Asia asked for a big girl ponytail today. isnt it cute? she takes her coloring very seriously. =)

when aunt chris and uncle howard flew back home after a long week in myrtle beach they flew over DAFB. aunt chris was nice enough to take picture of our new neighborhood. i have circled our house in red. pretty cool huh?

Sorry its been so long since the last post. Anya went on a field trip on the 19th to a ranch. they did pony rides, hay rides, a corn maze and at the end they each picked out a little pumpkin to take home. She was very excited to go on her first field trip and i think she had a good time. Anyhoo, she put her pumpkin on the front porch to be festive and two days later we found nibble marks on it. one day we came home from shopping and we saw the little bugger eating away at anya's pumpkin. it was a squirell. it took me a couple days to get a picture of him in action, but i got it.

The Philadelphia Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Philly Zoo on a whim. Just a word of advice, don't travel to or from that city when the Phillies or the Eagles are playing. We had to listen to all of the Phillies fan honking and waving their paraphernalia for a good portion of the way home.

All in all, I am pleased with the zoo and am looking forward to going back and making the most of our membership. FYI, we can take 2 guests with us when we go, so if anyone is interested, let us know. The girls are always up for a trip!

everything is going fine here. some of our friends have been moving into new houses so we are starting to accumulate boxes for our upcoming move. i have seen our new house from afar and i dont think it will be done by 31 Oct. oh well, at least i can have everything packed up. =)

Fall Festival 9/22

Yesterday i ran in another 5K race. This one had a fall festival afterwards. Anya got us through the corn maze. They had alot of fun playing in the soybeans and Asia made friends with the goat.
